My Hobbies…

In the summer, mountain biking; in the winter, hockey. In fall and spring, a little of both.

My Calling…

At about the age of 20, it was made abundantly clear to me that I was put on this planet to connect people to God. So, I went to school at TWU for my undergrad and Regent for my masters, graduating in 2005. In 2007, I was ordained in the Christian Reformed Church after finishing the denomination’s academic ministry requirements. All the schooling was tough slugging, but actually, being able to be a pastor makes it all worth it. There really is nothing better than connecting and helping people better connect with Jesus.

Marissa Brown - Worship & Youth Coordinator

Marissa Brown is a 2020 BA Worship Arts graduate, from Columbia Bible College. Adopted from Baton Rouge, Louisiana & raised in Kamloops as the youngest of 7 children.

About me: I am a worship leader passionate about seeing others develop deeper connections with God. I first noticed the impact of musical worship when I was seven years old, as I saw my father with his arms lifted high singing. I had yet to see so much love, trust and a longing in a person, I heard it in his voice, this began my journey.

I have enjoyed giving others the resources needed to grow in their faith. I live my life knowing that I am a vessel to be used by God, trusting in Him completely, and knowing that my role in His narrative though small, is a calling I can not refuse. My experience in worship planning, leadership development, and administrative work, with the central point being youth, has led me to seek a position where I can pour into youth and show them the beauty in their creativity and curiosity.

Mission Hills Mike - 4th Grader

Hi I’m Mike!

I’m 9 and a 1/2 years old.  I live in the church so... I’m pretty sure I’m from Mission (I’ll ask my mom). I like to ride my bike, eat candy, ask questions about life and I really really like getting to share what God is teaching me to all of my friends at MHCC.

See you at church (sometimes there's candy)!
